Australian Society of
Section Car Operators

A.S.S.C.O

A Section Car (also known as a speeder, railway motor car, putt-putt, track-maintenance car, crew car, jigger, trike, quad, or a trolley) is a maintenance of way motorised vehicle formerly used on railways around the world by track inspectors and work crews to move quickly to and from work sites. The Australian Society of Section Car Operators, Inc (ASSCO) is an organisation dedicated to providing access to operating railways for section car owners and enthusiasts.

We are an accredited Rail Operator in Queensland that regularly runs on tracks owned by Queensland Rail as a third party operator.

ASSCO is a not-for profit incorporated entity. The group represents enthusiasts from all mainland states who own or are interested in operating motor section cars and is structured to provide safe, supervised access to railway corridors.
